City Life Sequel on the Way

Remember the old SimCity clone City Life? It turns out that the developer Monte Cristo has long going plans on a sequel. The original sold over a quarter of million copies and Monte Cristo have gone through countless of suggestions from fans on how to improve the next incarnation. Phillipe, an employee at the company, doesn’t miss the opportunity to take a poke at the upcoming SimCity Societies:

Earlier this year we asked City Life owners to tell us what were their feeling about City Life and what could be improved. In case they stop by my blog, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the 30 000 players who contributed: We heard the message loud and clear.

Based on these contributions, I must say I’m not that surprised with the Simcity 4 community reaction to the announcement of Simcity Societies. As I do, city builder fans place simulation depth and realistic environments as key for their enjoyment… as well as content (buildings, landmarks, etc…).
