The city building genre is still alive and kicking, but perhaps without the same fury of old. GameSpot acknowledges this with a fresh article featuring Cities XL, the newest contribution to the family - now with a social networking twist.

Cities XL will come with over 500 buildings, a wide arrange of customization tools and a plethora of other exciting features. Beta testing is just around the corner and the game will ship later this year.
