EA has a long history of messing up games (James Bond The World Is Not Enough on N64). the fact that they had to patch it even a month after release is a sign it was rushed. The gameplay sucks (see zooming comment earlier), and you can’t just zone areas to see buildings pop up. It’s annoying to have to manually place buildings all the time. Played for 30 minutes, then the UI pissed me off. Thankfully it was a friend’s computer so he paid for it poor sap. Did I mention you can’t zoom out all the way? I give it a 1 of 5.

I have also played sim city 3000 and sim city 4000 and all I have to say is that these games are excelent but they are also from a time period when games were based upon strategy and not so much pretty pictures. Unfortunatly there are a large group of people who do enjoy the sim cities societies games because it is in my opinion a dumbed down retarded version of what sim city is, they don’t have to think and since unfortunately these individuals make up 3/4s of the market the gming companies will of course go where the money is.

I like many of you have got excited over Spore, but when I read more into it it again seemed liked a dumbed down game compared to Maxis classic games and the Sim city franchise of the 90s I don’t know wether the companies like EA have been losing talented eccentric programers like will wright or X-Plane’s Austin Meyer or if its the populace themselves who are more interested in blood and shock shooter games and grand theft auto and don’t want to invest in any thing that requires a learning curve and does not always result in instant gratifcation. All I can say is that EA DID manage to get the sims working in a likeable order and i hope they keep it that way.

Simcity Societies isn’t as bad as everyone thinks. It isn’t anywhere near as great as SC4 is, but it isn’t bad either. I’d give it a 3/5 (Mediocre-Decent)

I bought the SimCity Box since it was the best deal, the only products out of that 5 are SimCity4 and SimCity4 Rush Hour.
SimCitySocieties should have been named something instead of having SimCity in it.

Just purchased SimCity Box, and the registration code won’t work. “Support” would not help.
EA is TERRIBLE! And I’m telling EVERYONE I know. They don’t stand behind their product.

My mom said I can choose 1 game for christamas present(pretty much the only present) and I chose simscity 5, I was sooooo excited and after few hours of playing I started crying because the game sucked and from that time on I started to download games Illegally. SO BLAME SIMCITY 5!!!

sim city societies is horrible! As a simcity fan myself, this game has bad graphics, too easy and its practically a waste of money. Adding the Sim City logo was a bad decicion, as it has almost nothing to do with city building.

i Agree with evryone here they should burns this game and maybe tilted mill along with it.
i would even be happy to go back to sc4 graphics not even 3d just so i dont play scs full of fairytales and lame shit.
sc5 should just be minor grpahics and major content addon
