Im fourteen and a big sim city fan never played the original though… anyway I got this game about a week ago and it’s fun for about a couple of days but after a while it gets really boring. i agree with everyone else when they say it lacks any depth. A big dissapointment. I think the graphics are really cool but EA missed the whole thing with sim city, watching your city evolve etc. overall I think the game would be appreciated by my 10 year old sisters though lol.

sim city societies is awful. worst game ever, on patch 4 now, still not fixed all the bugs..

Badly made, tilted mill ought to be ashamed of themselves, EA ought to be ashamed for letting tilted mill create such a poor quality product.

So funny that everyone agrees that Societies sucks! I’m a complete Simcity addict and have been for years. My wife thinks I suffer from a dangerous addiction and maybe she’s right, but I haven’t been able to suffer through a single game of Societies yet… the cookie cutter approach takes all the fun out of it for me. I want cooler, more expansive transportation and energy generation options….

I actually like City Life quite a bit and look forward to the XL version next year, but Societies is total crap… really sad to see.

I am a die-hard fan of Sim City. I’ve been playing it since I first found it on the SNES. From there I moved into SC2000, which of course was leaps and bounds ahead of the original and so on, and so on. I was very excited about SC4000 Deluxe Edition as it offered more control over transit. Not to mention all of the add-ons that others have created so you can have roundabouts or better looking pavement.

I thirsted for something more… I thought that SimCity Societies was it… I was severely heartbroken when I started playing it. Not only is the game play sluggish at best on a decent computer, it’s a complete change in the other direction as far as SC goes. This game shouldn’t even hold the title of SimCity… it should just be called Societies… Once I was disappointed I went to uninstall the program only to find that it wouldn’t leave. Now I have a program that I’m sorely disappointed with and I’m stuck with it. I eventually removed it by brute force.

In all, I hope that EA gets Maxis back to create a real SimCity 5… and realize that we’re not a group of softheads that can’t handle the complex workings of a fantastic game.

Bring back SimCity the way it was meant to be EA!

Worst game ever! I have a very fast computer and this thing just chug’s along!!!

Did anyone at EA actually test this game on an ‘average’ computer?

Wasted my money! NEVER BUY EA AGAIN!

This game sucks. we wanted:

I with most of you. My girlfriend bought my societies and I feel bad. She knows I love Simcity, and thought she was doing me a favor. My machine is to old to handle the new game… but I took it to my parents house and played for about an hour. The thing that really bothered me the most was the fact that I could not zoom out. wtf? I can’t even take in the vistas? I know maxis was on another project and that’s why they didn’t work on societies, but we need them back. If even just for their dromedary(SP?) themed wit. EA can only make this up to me by making NHL 09 the best hockey game ever… which is doubtful

I totally agree with most of the above posters.

I had initially read this game was supposed to be like a sim city game, and even the game trailers looked pretty interesting. But i should’ve known something wasn’t right when i saw it for $20 at the store. I bought it and didn’t even make it out of the tutorial it was so horrendous.

If it were worth it to sit in traffic and waste the gas to drive back to the store i’d of done it!

I got hooked on Simcity 4, loved it, got SCS, played it for about a month and forgot about it, not exactly “Crap” but definetly disapointing of EA, Maxis should work on SC games and if not i shall refuse to buy any future Simcity games. My Rating: 3.0 out of 10, Forgettable
