GameSpot is known to be pretty tough in their reviews, and their rather short review of SimCity Societies is no exception. The game is given a score of 6.0 with the reviewer adding that the addictive gameplay from previous instalments is completely missing, the game is way too easy and the graphics engine is pretty, but sluggish.
Watching your Sims walk around is also fun because of their cute exaggerated walks. But be prepared: Though the frame rate isn’t that stable to begin with, building a large city can slow it to a crawl, so prepare to turn down your settings, even on a higher-end machine.
Don’t miss the patch that was released in conjuction with the game which is said to fix some of the stability issues.
Worst sim city game ever. Wasted my money and my time on this junk. Rather than buy this game go set your money on fire in the kitchen….At least then you get a pretty flame to look at and the added suspense of needing to grab the fire extinguisher.
i actually think that this shouldn’t have been named simcity, its just to different. It brought unreal expectations from fans of Simcity, personally i think this game stands on its own as a separate experience totally unrelated, its not a simcity 5 or nothing. so people should just stop complaining about it. Its not a bad game just the expectation was that this would be a simcity 5.
I read the naysayers who said this game was going to be crap. I was ready to defend this game because it had elements in it I had wished for in future Sim City games (such as the ability to truly decide what buildings show up rather than just zones). But, this game was the biggest waste of money on a game I have ever made. They stripped it of everything that made the Sim City games exciting and created an entirely illogical and awkward design for the new elements that is of 2nd grade complexity. It kept my interest for about 24 hours and I can’t even force myself to play it now. EA needs to start focusing more on the quality of their products before they destroy their reputation any further.
If maxis made this game it would be better.
This game is a flop…no real substance and way too easy…I was was able to make $10 million in under a week with no chance of expanding…plain out sucks…
Follow-up…I played for a week, but only about 3 hours a night….so….21-24 hours total….
The patch that was supposed to fix the problems, doesn’t. The forum at the SCS website is full of people that can’t play the game for more than 10 minutes without crashing, still others that can’t even get it to start, and their computers all meet or exceed the requirements. The game feels like it was rushed out before the holidays to make an extra buck or two, and was never really tested.
I did’t even bother trying it. They game is programmed in .NET 2.0 so right I way I know it’s rubbish.
the game was meant for people who likes to experiment the ‘what ifs’, not for hardcore simcity gamers. should have been labelled with some other name, and not simcity.
I agree with many it just plain sucks.
you peple are a bunch of lame vrain twits if a good game bit you in your own ass,I will
say for simcity societies it is a better game than simcity 2000, 3000 and far more fun to play than sicity 4 , these guy players are so dam lame whimped game players
Well Avalonia……After seeing your spelling I would figure you’d like the game. At least we know what market EA was going for…..People with no brains.
I often see complains that SC4 was all about micromanagement. While I never felt that way, Sim City Societies has far more micromanagement than SC4. I played, started raking in money, got all of my sims were super happy, then put the game away. I might try it again later, maybe.
ITS THE WORST GAME I HAVE BOUGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE SIMCITY 4 IS MUCH BETTER
I AM SO, SO, SO ,SO DISSAPOINTED IN TILTED MILLS. I MEAN COME ON GUYS, AT LEAST LET ME ZOOM OUT FAR ENOUGH TO SEE WHAT I’VE DONE..IF ANYTHING. THE GRAPHICS ARE SHOT TO HELL AND, OH, DID I MENTION I CAN’T ZOOM OUT ENOUGH TO SEE………PITIFUL.
CAN YOU SAY, REFUND? GIMMEE MY MONEY BACK…
I think this game is the worst SimCity game ever. I have played and been a hardcore fan since the 1st SimCity. I think they tried to make it along the same lines as The Sims, which was a mistake. The best selling strategy game of all time changes it’s approach…it just doesn’t make sense. Get Maxis back on the game and continue where SC4 left off, just like the other sequels. I would love to see the regions and transportation networks, and everything else that was there in SC4. Some of the Societies options could be brought in, like the drag and drop feature and different camera angles. But overall I got my hopes up and wasted my damn money!
I won’t go as far as saying this game is horrible. It’s initially fun, but just lacks any complexity and challenges that are going to make you want to play it a whole lot.
I think that they should make another game with more landmarks, better graphics, better custimization, and more, well…just fun.I liked Simcity 4 a lot. I didn’t really like societies. But I should fully support a simcity 5 per say. Thanks for Listening.
I spent less than 3 hours messing around with the game. I agree its NOT A SIM CITY GAME. It is totally another type of game. I don’t like this at all! It completely leaves out the basis or excitement of a true Sim City game. I hope they come out with a REAL SIM CITY 5. Don’t buy Sim City Socities. It’s a TOTAL waste of money and a waste of time. I want a refund!
I think it would be much better if MAXIS developed the game instead of Tilted Mill… they are just plain cheap. Also, at least in my humble opinion, 2D isometric graphics (as in SC4) allow for much more variety and detail (I’m a detail freak) than a shoddy 3D rendering. Until the graphics are improved enough, and more depth is added to gameplay, SimCity Societies is destined to remain a failure. I just hate when fun 2D isometric games go shitty 3D… I just need detail for it to be fun. Until most household CPUs can run near-perfect (and detailed) 3D renderings smoothly, developers should stick to more elaborate 2D isometric graphics and not forget gameplay when transitioning to 3D too.
The fisrt SC I ever bough was SC4. I fell in love. I just got hooked. But at some point I lost interest in the game. Then I heard a new simcity game was coming out. Yippee! I’m so gonna buy it. I got the game, played for 4-6 hours. Then I realized that the game I was playing is nothing I had hoped for.
my system requirements is more then right for the game, and it was the first ever game i bought which said blank cd.i when to the store and exchanged it 3 times, all 3 said blank cd.the store gave me my money back.but i think its a nice game although i never play it.the store set they will try and exchange it with there supplyiers with others which work
in cameroon also i hate simcitysocieties
You know what EA should do? Since they obviously can’t make a good SimCity game by themselves, they should start a forum where people can submit ideas for the next SimCity game.
The game is extremely disappointing. I am sorry I brought it. You lose interest on soon after I opened the package. I would like to return it.
The old simcity runs on my computers but this one wont even run! I have three different computers I’ve tried it on. My son is so upset.
Don’t bother trying to get it to run. Your son will loose interest in a day anyway…
the game is really is one of the worst things ever…
Its like a gigantic downgrade for the simcity name.
I was lucky. Bought for #25 at toys R us.
But: as they all say. This is nothing to do with Sim city. The game instructions suggest demolishing buildings if you need more money, but, all you have to do is wait another day. I just don’t get it. This seems like windows paint, except you can paint buildings.
What is the game?
I fill the screen with buildings, get lots of money, but nothing ever happens.
Buildings don’t wear out.
No maintenance costs.
Nothing to do.
Are there some scenarios to do? I can’t find anything except painting buildings on the screen!
I was hoping for:
Sim City 4 in 3D with real sims.
I got “paint 3d”.
Hum.
I didn’t purchase this game; I downloaded it. And good thing. Some of you guys were able to play it for several hours? Wow. I got bored after one. I didn’t make millions of sim dollars; I just got bored. There’s no depth to the game. It’s like a mix between “The Sims” and Sim City; unfortunately taking more from The Sims than the later.
I’m sure that part of my disgust with SCS is that although I knew the game was going to be a lot different, I was expecting the same amount of attention to detail, flexibility, and thoughtfulness that’s been a staple of the Sim City games in the past.
Ohh, and to the guy that says SCS is a game for people that like “what if” - you think that’s NOT what Sim City has always been about? And to the guy that says “I don’t want 3D models” well, I do! But I want them on a real sim city..
If Maxis isn’t making the next Sim City, and they say it’s going to be a lot different, than I think SC4 is the last Sim City game. It’s unfortunate, especially for all us long-time Sim City fans.
I’m a die hard Sims fan and have never played any of the Sim City games, so I’d just like to say that SCS is nothing compared to the Sims! I can’t understand why everyone is comparing the two!? But I do agree with you all that SCS SUCKS!!!! Mine won’t even play - it takes about 5 real literal minutes to place a building as it’s so SLOW! I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
SCS really sucks. I rather wipe my ass with the money than to go spend it on that piece of crap!!!! I played it on my cousins pc and it is the worst game ever.
This game was more boring then sleeping on my couch watching tv
Ok i just played the game yesterdat, and my super nintendo blows up and caused a fire in my basement. dont play this game or your basement will be demallished
I spent more time installing it than actually playing it. The tutorial alone showed that this game is a complete piece of crap. I honestly believe that this was the worst game I have ever bought. It should be freeware for bored people with desk jobs.
This is the WORST SimCity game I’ve ever bought and I’ve had them all! If anyone finds out how to get a refund, let me know. What a waste of money! I’m so dissapointed. More than that really… I’m angry at them that they actually had the nerve to call this a SimCity game, and angrier at myself for actually buying it. The graphics are slow, choppy, you can’t zoom out enough, but mostly the game is just plain BORING. The monkeys in my son’s zoo game could have engineered a more interesting game!
I URGE ANYONE TO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
I am very disappointed by this title - quite simply previous sim city titles provided many many hours of entertainment, I laboured on this for about 8 hours in the vain hope that somewhere buried in it was the fun, and maybe I had missed it. But alas I hadn’t - what a terrible game. To any developer, or publisher that should happen to read this that was in any way responsible for this game - hang your heads in shame..!!!1
This game plays more like the Ceaser IV, City Life Sim-Wanabe games, which is a tremendous disappointment to my hopes for the franchise. However the game isn’t all bad, just not a Sim game, as so many people here are saying. It deviates too far from the original concept, and besides, not having Maxis & Will Wright work on Sim City is like Terminator 3 w/out James Cameron, take the art away from it’s original creator and all that’s left is a brand name. Let’s hope EA returns to it’s senses and brings back Maxis for a genuine Sim City 5.
I really don’t understand, why EA permits to demolish their reputation with such a shit! I was exhausted to buy it, and finally after a few hours of game I was angry to have payed 50 euros for it. EA: DON’T PRODUCE MORE SIM CITY IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DO IT THE RIGHT WAY!
Sick how they sold out SimCity’s good name to toss us this garbage.
Love how BP’s logo and the Inconvenient Crap are crammed down your throat throughout the game. Who lets their kids play this garbage?
Sad, no more buying SimCity off the shelf.
I’ve decided not to buy SCS. Whether it’s a fun, playable game or not, it’s obviously a completely different game from the previous SC titles, each of which (with the exception of the original) was essentially an improvement on the one before, which is what Simcity fans were looking for. It seems the SC developers have always taken five steps backward before taking ten steps forward (that is, eliminating things that work and replacing them with new things that also work), so they’ve always ended up ahead, but this time they’ve gone back to the beginning and went in a completely different direction. It’s like they went to their loyalest fans and said “Screw you, were going to appeal to another fan base”. I hope they realize their mistake and get to work on a real sequel to SC4 soon.
And if they insist on abandoning the Sim City series, I think they should go ahead and release the source code for SC4. Most of the really good work on it was done as user-developed plugins anyway.
Sim City Societies is a joke. It is by far the worst game I have ever played. EA should give a refund to anyone who wants one and bar Tilted Mills from creating any other games in the Sim franchise. EA should also get Maxis to sign a contract to make Sim City 5 as a replacement for Societies. Once Will Wright has finished Spore he needs to return to where it all started and work with Maxis on Sim City 5. Even if all they do is take Sim City 4 and make it 3d with more buildings it would be a hundred times better than Societies. It has very little in common with Sim City, the similarities end with the fact that it is a city simulator. I was truly disappointed.
Maxis Doesn’t exist anymore, it’s been disolved into EA.
**WHAT the Sim Community was looking for.
**I.E. Don’t just complain, let’s get it fixed.
To be blunt, the game graphics are terrible with respect to what was expected. We didn’t want a large scale SIM2. We surely didn’t want something pathetically simple or worse, easier to conquer. We didn’t want you to take over everything we wanted to control (roads, infrustructure, planning, traffic management issues). And there is NO WAY we wanted buildings so gross that they don’t appear real (i.e. the skyscraper windows should be small, not 20 ft tall per window in comparison to the model). And most important, we wanted to watch the evolution (to be surprised what the SIM do) - not FORCE it - that part is sick.
> We wanted even more options and complexity - yes MORE, NOT LESS!!
> We wanted even more realistic models, not SIM2 style (buildings that look real and more to scale).
> We wanted to be able to zoom in to the street level, not be forced to LIVE there.
> And contrary to Tills belief - we DO want to interconnect our cities online
> We wanted more unique aircraft flying around, event occurring, etc. Basically more action and higher detail.
You ripped everything that SimCity was famous for (even as a training tool) and went in the opposite direction. What the hell for?
Yes, we want more to do, not less. We want more complexity from the number of options (building types, road types, etc) and fine detailed models, etc. Take SimCity 2000 for example, takes the skyscrapers and make them very detailed, more options. Let us watch more action as they build them over a longer period of time - same with the roads and the power, etc. Let us watch the action. Don’t GIVE us sky scrapers to “Plop” on the map - that’s taking all the challenge and evolution fun.
By the way, how do I get a refund for this mess?? Years of waiting - bah. You said “you listen” - who the hell were you listening too? It sure wasn’t your user community….
It’s funny I ran across this thread. I bought Societies a couple of month ago, not sure why. I’m a fanatic of simcity, played every single version since I was a kid. Anyhow, at the store I saw societies and thought, gee, I missed a version, and bought it. Oh my, what a disappointment… I went straight in to play it. Where are the water pipes? pumps? Electrical lines… what happened? Looks nice, I know some of you wanted it realistic, but I believe stylized is ok. If the gameplay was there it would have been great, but, it’s not simcity anymore.
Long story short, I am not playing it anymore. It was not too bad but I played that game more as if I was drawing something rather than trying to make it work… A shame that the building themselves do not even evolve… Anyhow, I am ready to put simcity 4 back on my computer
and that’s why I came online today.
I just think that they tried to please people who just couldn’t play the real simcity, they just lost the followers though…
i tried sim city societies i played about 3-4hours than i instaled sim city 4. I think even the graphics is better for sim city 4
than SOciEties I still play with SC4 hours every day.
A complete waste of money. It is way better to toss my money in the toilet bowl and flush it. at least I can watch something “more interesting” than this game that only teach how to “click” a mouse…
Thanks to all for the heads up … sorry you had to waste your money though. I gotta say, I was hesitant at first and my suspicion appears to have been correct. Let’s write Maxis/EA and tell them that we miss them and their ingenuity!
I haven’t bought the game yet, but after reading all I’ve read about SimCity Societies, I think I’m going to pass on this one and I’ll wait for Sim City 6, if it ever comes out.
u weirdos dunno anythin this game rocks only dumb lame stupid idiots would say its tupid u guys are all lame and gay and most of all not simcity lovers.period also u guys are a pusst
Yep! what a piece of crap.Luckily EB games gave me a refund the very next day.Wooooah! I almost wasted 100 Aussie dollars(90 Dollars US).
I hate this game so much that I played it once and had no interest in playing it again. So then having it waste space on my computer I uninstalled it immediately, so it was a big waste. It’s, I think, the worst game I’ve ever played, it’s shame that anyone waste time make such crap.
This Game is just awful, Played the Demo, tried 1 city, Uninstalled. Which I could get a refund. This game is so far off the target- it is unbelievable.
This game is el horriblĂ©! I installed it, and after like 10mins, it froze. This happened 6 or 7 times, and now it won’t even play. It was the biggest waste of money. Maybe someone on ebay will want it…
You know, it’s not really all that bad. I’ve played SimCity from way back (Commodore 64, anyone?) and I must say I’ve always been a big fan of the series. This game is no exception. I can see both sides of the argument. The game could definately be better. But let’s think of it as a starting point for something; something that will hopefully evolve into something even better. However, I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t as challenging as SimCity 4. I really enjoy the amount of absolute control I have over everything in that game except what the sims choose to build (and even then you can influence it). I look forward to the next installment of the SimCity line (hopefully something simillar to what everyone has come to know and love) and maybe even to an expansion of Societies. But remember, these are not the same game; comparing them to each other is like comparing banananas to cucumbers - they look simillar, but they taste different.
If anyone would still like a copyof SCS after reading the above messages … I would gladly trade it for a copy of SC4 (still playing SimCity 3000)!!
Wow… I haven’t been in touch with my SimCity gamer side for a while. I love SC4, but was waiting for a whole new experience. Not the mish mash crap fest this game turned out to be. I have already returned it.
We want to build cities, connect cities, watch them grow develop and become our dream cities. SimCity Societies is a gigantic turd in the middle of the SimCity franchise. Many people here are right, why break something that wasn’t broken, just improve it make it more realistic, give the users what we want!
I am ready to abandon SimCity altogether in protest. C’mon Will, finish goddamn Spore and get real again. Sim City needs the master back at work, not Tilted Mill whose crap tries at tried and true franchises has made me abandon them… Children of the Nile???? I hated that game with a passion.
The Sim, strat gamers want games with depth not this touchy feely crap in running your perfect society. I want to build frackin’ buildings and do urban planning, and watch them succeed and fail. Watch the sims hate and love me…
Maybe I should run for Mayor in my own city and start my machinations of SimCity here and build a true metropolis… damn, human players…
Its great to hear some many negative comments on a game that simply should not have been released. The positive side of all the bad comments is that hopefully EA will listen and realise that whilst all they really did is license the name to TM, to please the crowd who kept wanting SC5, it didn’t work. Lets hope they make a real SC and soon. Lucky for me i bought from a store in Australia [EB Games] who give no questions asked refunds within 7 days [i actually went back the very next day], so i wasn’t out of pocket. I noticed that within 2 weeks the price had dropped from AUS$100 to AUS$60…. guess people were either not buying it or returning it.
Actually went to Asia and saw it at a dodgy copy place for AUS$10 and still didn’t buy it!
I’ll not go on about why it is so bad, we all know that now [or read the above posts], i just wanted to add my voice so EA realise their error and make a real game again.
The game isn’t too bad, it would’ve been better to make it known that this game is a spinoff of Simcity, not the next generation.
I don’t need 3D graphics, untill it can get as detailed and streamlined enough like the 2D graphics of Simcity 3000 or Simcity 4.
All I have to say is that I was excited to buy SCS but now im glad I read comments 1-59 and now im soooooo glad I WONT BUY IT, I also have to tell you guys who will be reading the comments that you must read comment #11 then #12, I AGREE WITH COMENT #25,AND I like comments #44, and #45
I too have to say I was disappointed. This game could have been released under the title “Sim Societies” and I think many people would have been happier.
The game itself is not too bad - its sort of like Sim City for your 7-11 year old. It is not an adult version of the game, and lacks any depth of complexity.
For the future of the Sim City I would like to see an implimentation of ideas that have both come and gone from the game. I would like to see regional play be optional so you can have the game work like it did in SC3000 or SC4. I would like to see real rivers where you can put a source location and adjust the acre feet flow rate. I would like to see free form streets, or at least a 22.5 angle added. Lastly I think that the smallest building/improvement tile needs to cover 4 map tiles, this would allow for enhanced centering of building/improvements (e.g. centering a 2×2 building at the end of a 1x access route)
Anyone else have ideas for what they would like to see in the next Sim City?
P.S. As for 3D vs 2D I dont really care, however I did always hope that one day I could actually do a “sim-view” tour of my city that I could control.
very disappointed, it is geared for - 11 year olds , which is ok , but i expected much much more, complexity, i am bored with it already, they way underestimated the intelligence of the players
I purchased this game despite all of the poor reviews and gamer’s comments. And sadly, it’s all true. I was dissapointed.
There are plenty of reviews that speak for themselves with SC:S. Believe them and skip this game.
I’ve been waiting a long time for sim city 5 to come out… and this is what i get!! What a joke. SC4 had great potential and those tards at ea didn’t bother doing any consumer research and just asked their mongoloid children if the colors were pretty enough for them. I want my money back or at least be able to trade scs for the real sim city 5 when it comes out.
well i feel sorry for maxis, ok so they are not making it but its gonna drag their name down!!! i’m gonna go get Cities Unlimited!!! it sounds great!!!
around 10 years i am playing SimCity , but some thing like this game is really is one of the worst things ever.
This is without a doubt the worst game I’ve ever played. I LOVED Sim City rush hour, so much of it made sense, it was challenging and fascinating to watch your city grow. This new game has no appeal what so ever, it plays like your 12 years old..leaves nothing to the imagination, is completely uninspired and boring to play.
I wish I could get my money back!
So my sim addiction isn’t so feverish of late, which is why I’ve just now tinkered with this release. Though, luckily for me no money has changed hands just yet. From what I’ve seen so far, Societies borrows elements from a game called “City Life” published by Monte Cristo Games. This is a good thing, though the camera restrictions offer an immediate distinction between the two.
I’m not ready to label this release as binary junk for now. Considering the Sims franchise that enjoys all those lucrative EP and SP releases, I’d wager that once EA releases all EPs for Societies, many of us will be blown away and totally addicted. The only difference is that the total investment could be hundreds USD and after a year or three, the product will be complete… you know, like it should have been at initial release and for the initial costs.
The software publishers can’t be blamed for that problem though. They’ve only discovered how stupid the end user is, myself included. I can remember the days where the only way to register a software package was to send in the postcard, in those days the products really were finished and polished as extensively as possible.
Now, in the “update” world that Mr. William has created, the publishers are rushing product to the shelves with the thought: “oh well, they can register online and get the fixes as we work them out.” The result? Us stupid end users keep buying, registering and begging for fixes.
The childlike element is obvious to me as well, but how else is fresh blood to be inducted into the simulation addicts club?
So suck it up all you nae sayers, in time and with enough EPs, I believe that Societies will be a formidable contender in the simulation genre and worthy of the Simcity name!
…torrents? haha
Well, Where should i begin. Simcity Societies is very stupid, lame, just a waste of money. Who ever thought or made this game is out of there minds. It dont come even close to simcity4. EA always makes expansion packs of the SIMS 2 so many of them its nuts. if EA can do that why cant they do the same for Simcity4 Like: Have a expansion pack for simcity4 where you would have more Disasters, more Landmarks, Roads & highways, Different maps, more buildings. All EA has made for simcity4 was just two games. Simcity gamers would like to see more expansion packs of just the simcity4. not just THE SIMS 2 Or totally different city games that is just to lame. I so agree with alot of these comment that people made about the new game. Like: Cant ZOOM OUT. Theres no landmarks. and alot more stuff thats plan old stupid.
Okey Its me again. Know this is a Expansion pack for the simcity4. First of all. Have more completetly different landmarks. More different disasters such as Hurracane, huge wave that would hit your city. fog, or mist, have a alien atack like Independence day movie. also so much more. have different buildings. Different color water. have a region where you can create your own country. Like Russia, England, France, Mexico, Or even the UNITED STATES Of America. Have Seasons. Like Winter with snow. Fall where trees turn brown. Summer with flowers bloom. Have Dates. Like back in the olden time. with older buildings from 1800s or 1900s. Have Cruise ships example Titanic. Have something like that for a expansion pack for simcity4. Maybe someone people wont like this. Maybe some people would. At lease it would go with Simcity4.
Im big computer geek, I play a lot of games and heck sometimes even get paid for it, and starting to design my own. I built a desktop designed to rock virtually any game thats out including bioshock, COD 4, etc. Like the rest of you Im huge simcity fan; ive been playing since the original came out. I got Sim City Societies so i could make up my own mind and I was intrigued. Played a large map, filled it up almsot and was lagging my computer out. SERIOUSLY, WTF. I couldn’t believe it. I thought at first i have a virus or something. Nope machine was clean. For any of you guys serious out there about the next one. Send me your ideas, if you can code or any good art, let me know. How hard could it be to make our own (sarcasm) but i think it could still be done
Uhmm i think that the problem is with ur graphic card phoenix…the game works perfect for me it need a high bit rate cause of extreme amount of population of object in the map. You need a card with high bitrate and atleast 512mb of bandwidth.Anyways Maxis has always facinated me and just keep going guys
Haven’t played it. Will not play it. SC4 until SPORE comes out.
Simcity what?
What is this game Spore about?
I’m 10 years old OK & I, a bIG simcity fan am dissipionted By this game.Graphiks are good but the game keeps fr#@$ing crashing & freezing.Expansion packs help but SimSity Societies just sucks. It Took me 3 whole days just to get to a pop. of 16,000.On simsity 3000 unlimeted I can do that in 5 minutes.Simcity Societies is a waste of MY MONEY & SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many people already said that Societies should be a game on its own and not a part of the Simcity brand. I definitly agree. societies is a completly different way of city-building game. It presents you a more social way of thinking instead of the normal economical way that fans like me are used to. And that makes me feel sad when I see that the new Simcity Box is actually relating Societies with Simcity, thus making Societies a part of the brand instead of separate it. However I believe that the future will teach the publishers a very valuable lesson.
fun
I like it, okay i don’t use any the filter stuff, but it looks good.Okay somethings like hours and viechles are stupid, but the game is overall great.I didn’t play the normal games though, but i want the expansion
I bought the game yesterday….after 5hrs of installing/uninstalling, patching C++, NET, AMD drivers, etc….
I still cant get the game to run….all it does is displays a exception error window on taskbar that I can’t even view to see the error….Alt-F4 is the only way to end it without rebooting.
I’ve spent 2hrs now reading forums and the EA ones basically left me with a bad taste in my mouth…they lock threads so they don’t have to fix the problems.
I really really really wish Spore wasn’t being put out by EA….I’m scared they are gonna screw that up too.
I’m gonna try to get my money back from London Drugs….otherwise…I know a field with a herd of cows and a big pile of manure where I’m gonna bury this total disgrace to the name of SIMS….
Please…for the love of everything you hold dear…DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!
you know, i went into this game not as a hardcore simcity fan, but just as a gamer, who enjoys something diffrent, no expectations, or wants. And im still dissapointed, i would have rather watched my money getting burned on my grandapa’s fire and do something useful like warming up the house, rather then watse it on another ea flop. dont make the samee mistake, just leave it on the game shelf and but simcity 4 instead.
Aslo people please stop it with” this game is for 11 year old” even my little brother though this was a waste for crap
yeah i cant even get this game to work. my mouse wont move, can anyone help?
this game is a worthless piece of crap. i dont know why i even bought it. i was hoping to get a sequel to SC4 and got this game. it takes over 1 hour to load and when its finally done loading it crashes within 5 minutes.
why would you take out things like zoning, freeways, airports, RCI demand. these are things that got me hooked on SC3000 and SC4. another thing that makes SCS a terrible game is the subways. when i first saw the subways i thought i was gonna be able to construct the sucway underground like in previous games, but i was very wrong. i want my money back
I think that this pretty much shows why Spore has been forever in the make. Will Wright doesn’t want this to happen to him.
