The source is EA Store. It isn’t mentioned, but they are most likely recommended. Having these as minimum seems like a stretch.

I’m running it with a 2.4 ghz system, 2 gigs of ddr800 ram and a nvidia 7900 gs video card and this game is a resource hog. Even at the lowest settings it staggers at times. I’d be careful about the minimum requirements here and expect some speed issues on a normal system.

u have the right specs, whether u can get it to actually work or not seems to be a matter of good luck…
Siomply putyou can play this on a ‘recomended’ machine ok as long as you a:) dont mind pitifull resolutions and b:) dont like to build big cities. And as a side note the damned thing wont utilise more than one cpu so forget your quad core upgrade giveing you a boost, It aint there.

I ran the demo on my PC, and it looked great. unfortunately it ran very slowly. Here are my system specs.

I’m going to assume that because my specs are far more than required for this game that it might simply be the age of my PC that’s causing the game to run so slowly. After all, I’ve had this PC for close to 7 years.
Even though my old laptop was less than a year old, I specifically bought the most pumped up new laptop (4gb) I could buy 6 months ago…with the specific goal of being able to play SimCity high res, without crashing. It still crashes when my city gets large or the least bit complicated. I don’t want to hear about the “recommended specs.” I want someone who can play the current version of SimCity, at high res, complicated cities, without crashing, to tell what system he is running it on! I can’t afford to keep buying new laptops that I hope will work.

With this I could run a city with 300′000 people reasonably well, anything over 400 thousand and gameplay would be too annoying.
Now I upgraded my computers insides again:

6Gb 1600 DDR3
The results were surprising, even on todays close to high-end computer, you cant play this game totally smoothly after 1 million population. My prediction is that after maybe 2 years you can have a reasonably priced computer wich will run this game…

Hello i remember that i played SIMCITY 4 on P3 600Mhz 128MB Siluro FX 5200. And there was no lag!!! Idk how but it worked.

Got a 2.1 amd triple processor 4 gb ram windows vista service pack 2 ati radeon hd 3650 graphiccard 512-1200 mb ram all updated ! game won´t run LOL
So after i even tryed with windows xp home edition service pack 3 i have come to conclusion that game aint compatible with : ati radeon 3200 HD and ati radeon 3650 HD.
Forget about min. requirements. I have Athlon Dual Core 2,2 x2 GHz, 2 GB DDR2 ram, ati radeon 4670 513 ddr3 ram and after having a small size city (around 15k population),game is unbeliveable slowing down on a moments. I`ve tried everything, from puting details from low to high the and reverse, problem remains.
I think that recomended requirements for this game are: quad core CPU with 2,5GHz, 4GB+ DDR3 and VGA with 1GB+ DDR5 ram.

I was wondering if it will play the game without crashing because now seems like I can’t play the game because the DVD drive on my PC tower is broken and won’t open. I’ve heard of the game crashing when the city gets complicated on some computers due to low function. Will I have that problem on the labtop I’m buying?

I have a pentium 4 celeron dimension 4550 12gb ram windows xp sp2 intel inside 2.4 2002 version and the. CPU Won’t even try to read the disc it says please insert a disc i restarted my CPU turned it off let it reload and the piece of shit won’t even work but i love simcity so much and it won’t work….PLEASE HELP
