At the Tilted Mill official forum President & Director of Development Chris Beatrice made a statement on the pretty heated discussions that’s been going on around the community lately. To put it mildly fans aren’t exactly thrilled by the direction SimCity seems to be taking and the decision to not include the guys around the old Maxis gaming studio. Here’s an excerpt on what he has to say:

…I do not want to mislead anyone: This SC is not a realistic urban simulation, which I understand, to many, represents the heart of what SC is. No one is blind to that. And if you’re just completely turned off, even angered by the mere notion of any game called “SimCity” that is not a detailed, realistic urban simulator, I absolutely understand that viewpoint, and absolutely respect it.

Stay tuned for more info as we get it.

Ok, so he understands that viewpoint, respects it, but doesn’t give a crap and will do whatever they want anyway. Doesn’t sound like a whole lot of respect to me. Mark my words, this will be a disaster of a release. Completely dumbing down what SimCity is all about means the death of the franchise. Too bad. I was really hoping for a true SimCity 5… and 6, and 7…

Basically, it’s not SimCity. Those greedy bastards just want to use the title to make mega cash.
